2020 #OzDayNYC Black Tie Gala

 

On Saturday, January 25th 2020, The Australian Community will again be hosting its annual #OzDayNYC Black Tie Gala to recognize Australians who have donated their time and talent to assisting our non profit in its charitable mission.

#OzDayNYC is a re-envisioning of an Australia Day Black Tie Gala:  It is a modern celebration of Australian philanthropy and culture.  It is an opportunity for our Community to come together and celebrate being an Australian living in New York.

Whether you are purchasing a single ticket, or your corporation is sponsoring a table for 10, everyone will feel welcome and have the opportunity to mix and socialize throughout the evening - and into the early hours at the After Party in the Long Hall Bar on the ground floor!

HONOREE

Jeremy Balkin is a best selling Author, Philanthropist and leads the Innovation Strategy for HSBC's Retail Banking and Wealth Management business in the USA.

Jeremy is being honored not only for his achievements in Business and Philanthropy, but also for his advocacy for our non-profit organization, and his support of our expat initiatives.

2020 "JOEY" RECIPIENTS

 

The Australian Community will be recognizing Georgia Kate Haege, Elise McCann, Hilary Cole, Tamara Hansson, Sean Wayland and Ben McHugh for their talent, and charitable contributions to our organization.

Members and Guests will enjoy spectacular views of the Hudson River and the Statue of Liberty.

The Loft at Pier A features a Stage and Dance Floor. There will be a limited number of Sponsor tables, with General Admission tickets available.

For those who were looking to attend the After Party, the Long Hall Bar is open to 3:00AM!

MENU

To maximize the time spent mixing and making new connections, the food service will consist of a casual, but elegant Buffet and Carvery for all attending.

This format has proven very popular in past years as members and guests can dine at their leisure.

The ticket price includes an open bar.

CHARITY AUCTION

Leading Businesses will be donating prizes to our Charity Auction.  Check back to see which items will be up for bid on the evening

MUSIC

Special live performances by our award recipients.

The DJ will be playing music throughout the evening, with dancing after the award ceremony.

RECIPIENTS

 

The Australian Community recognized Amelia Cormack, Nick Atkinson, Lynda Kinkade, Rupert Boyd, Georgia Kate Haege and Kurt Sneddon for their charitable contributions to our organization.

 

HONOREE

Zjantelle Cammisa Markel is a top-rated Immigration attorney who practices law in New York City.  Zjantelle not only assists her clients on Business and Immigration issues, but has been an avid supporter of The Australian Community from our inception in 2011.

Zjantelle was honored not only for her commitment to assisting Australians live and work in the U.S., but also for her Pro Bono commitments to our non-profit organization.

Wrap up of #OzDayNYC 2018 – aka “The Joeys”

It was a sold out, star-studded, Black Tie event at Pier A that recognized the contributions of Australian performing artists Amanda Bishop, Marika Aubrey, Ben McHugh, Kaye Tuckerman, Nick Hardcastle and Jeremy Youett.  Our Honorees were Stella Pulo and Sullivan Stapleton.

It was also great to see fellow Blindspot actor Luke Mitchell and his wife Rebecca Breeds stop by with Sully.  World renowned Australian Classical Guitarist Rupert Boyd added a special touch to the evening with a live performance.

The guest list read like a who’s who of Australian performing artists!

The format of the evening is an opportunity to mix and socialize throughout the event - and into the early hours at the After Party in the Long Hall Bar on the ground floor!
