Ten Australians: The Documentary
Commemorating the 25th Anniversary of 9/11
The Australian Community is proud to announce that we are currently in production of a powerful new documentary, Ten Australians. The documentary was created to honor the Ten Australians who perished at Ground Zero on September 11, 2001.
This film will be released via our social channels on September 11, 2026, marking the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. More than a remembrance, Ten Australians is a tribute to the spirit and contributions of Australians—not only to New York, but around the world.
Background:
The year 2026 marks two major milestones in American history:
- The 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence (July 4, 2026)
- The 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks (September 11, 2026)
Since our founding, The Australian Community has held an annual commemoration for the Ten Australians. These gatherings began as informal drinks overlooking the site in 2012…
… and have evolved into official ceremonies, including the 20th anniversary flag-raising at Bowling Green.
With each year, we have strived to deepen the significance of this commemoration. For the 25th anniversary, we felt it was time to create something enduring—something that speaks to a broader U.S. audience: A documentary.
Synopsys:
This documentary celebrates the extraordinary contributions and spirit of ten Australians in New York. Their stories are a tribute to Australian leadership, innovation, culture, and philanthropy and showcase the impact of their actions locally, to around the world.
Australians are making extraordinary contributions, and we want to share that impact with an American audience. At its core, this is a story about legacy, community, and shared humanity.
Most importantly, the film is dedicated to the memories of the Ten Australians who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. The film is set for release on September 11, 2026 – commemorating the milestone 25th anniversary of 9/11.

While production funding has been secured, your support will directly contribute to:
- A high-profile NYC premiere and media campaign
- Local and International film festival submissions
- Long-term distribution and promotional campaigns

Will small donations be accepted?
Absolutely! Folks are encouraged to make a tax-deductible donation using our secure online form.
- Donors giving $100 or more will be recognized as a “Mate” in the film’s credits.
- Donors giving $50 to $99 will be recognized as a “Friend” in the film’s credits.

Why Support this Film?
While many marketing teams are preparing materials to mark the 250th Anniversary of American Independence, the same teams face a challenge to authentically honor the victims of 9/11.
For Australian or Australian-led companies in the U.S., this is especially poignant: Remembrance is woven into our national identity. Supporting this documentary not only honors the ten Australians who perished at Ground Zero—it also provides companies a meaningful platform to demonstrate their commitment to 9/11 remembrance.
Further, this project is deeply personal to many Australians who simply want to be a part of this historic 25th Anniversary commemoration.
